I was listening to a radio show this morning and during the news, a report from Jake Tapper, ABC News, came on. Let me paraphrase below the fold.
Basically he said that Obama's trip was going to be viewed poorly in the eyes of the American people and one person in particular, John McCain. Now I suck at paraphrasing and remembering details, but that was the gyst of it. (I've searched everywhere for an ABC Radio News story by Jake Tapper and can't find it. Any ideas?)
Now the station I listen too is pretty balanced when it comes to news and this story did not feel right.
It aired again a half hour later so I got and my keyboard and e-mailed the news director. I asked them if I could share their e-mails here and they said for objectivity purposes they would rather not. So I am honoring that request.
To summarize what happened, they went back and listened to the piece, ageed with me that it seemed slanted and biased and pulled it.
I thanked them for hearing me out and felt better for doing something.
So don't hesitate to make your voice heard.
